ABOUT THE PARK

Gilman Playground’s features include ballfields, tennis courts, an adventure playground and play area, and wading pool.

HISTORY

The Gilman Park Community Club initiated a local improvement district to acquire a playground in 1928. It was referred to as “West Woodland Playground”” until the club petitioned in 1932 for the name “Gilman Playground”. (Edited from the files of Don Sherwood, 1916-1981, Park Historian.)

• Keep RIGHT at the fork in the ramp.

• Turn SLIGHT LEFT onto LINDEN AVE N.
• Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto N 65TH ST.

• Turn LEFT onto 8TH AVE NW.
• Turn RIGHT onto NW MARKET ST
• Turn LEFT onto 9TH AVE NW.

• Take the exit- exit number 169- towards NE 45TH ST/NE 50TH ST
• Keep RIGHT at the fork in the ramp.
• Merge onto 7TH AVE NE.
• Turn LEFT onto NE 45TH ST.
• Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto N MIDVALE PL.
• N MIDVALE PL becomes N 46TH ST.
• N 46TH ST becomes N MARKET ST.
• Turn LEFT onto 9TH AVE NW.
