This project was funded in part by a State Department of the Military Hazard Mitigation grant using FEMA funds, and Major Maintenance funds.

This electrical upgrade added a new emergency generator and automatic transfer switch to keep the building powered in the event of a power outage at the facility.

Project Description

Budget: $1,647,000
Electrical and Seismic Upgrades funded by FEMA grant and Major Maintenance Building Component Renovations.
Construction begins: Late August 2012.
Project complete: Completed in March 2013.

This project provides seismic upgrades to community center facility, including roof component seismic strapping, shear walls within structure, replace existing roof, gutters, and parapet, repair/replace clear story siding, replace metal sheeting on roof curbs. It will also remove existing HVAC roof unit and replace with new heat pump system.

A new emergency generator and an automatic transfer switch for electrical system will be installed. A variety of architectural improvements to include reconfiguring the sky lights, replacement of old ceiling panels, fresh paint and other minor upgrades.
