Brighton Playfield - Sprite Spark Parks Grant

Address: 6000 39th Ave S, 98118

Current Status

Thank you, this project is complete!

In the summer of 2011 Seattle Parks painted the basketball court with non-slip blue court paint. Parks received a $20,000 Sprite/Coca-Cola grant for Brighton Playfield and we were able to color coat the court and hire local artists to design a unique recreation/education themed piece for center court. Parks celebrated the artwork and the beginning of school in September 2012.

Project Description

Budget: $20,000
Construction begins: Summer 2012
Project complete: September 2012

Two young local artists, Brian Culpepper and Aubrey Harding, conceived the concepts for an art mural in 2011. Another local artist, Tom Brady, painted the mural design in the Summer of 2012.

Funds provided by a grant from the Coca-Cola Company.
