After many months of pile replacement work at Pier 59, Seattle Parks
and Recreation's construction crew drove the final replacement pile
on February 13, 2006. Begun during the summer of 2005, the pile replacement

The new front portion of the building is progressing on schedule. The under-deck piping for freshwater, saltwater, sewer and electrical systems is all in place. The remaining in-street work includes a primary switching vault for electricity.
Pile work and the deck replacement are nearly complete.
The Aquarium's main entrance has been moved to a concrete building where a new ticket booth and ramp into the building are located.
