Acquisition Projects
The Acquisition category includes acquisition of two types of properties
and is thus divided into two sub-categories: Neighborhood Park Acquisition
and Green Space Acquisition.
Neighborhood Park Acquisition
This subcategory includes the acquisition of properties in areas that
have been identified in the Parks and Recreation 2006 Development Plan
and Gap Analysis as being deficient relative to the City's comprehensive
plan goals. It is anticipated that the acquisition funding provided
by the levy will be supplemented by funding from other sources. However,
funding may still prove to be insufficient to complete acquisitions
in all of the locations listed below:
12th Avenue Urban Center Village
19th & Madison Neighborhood Park OPP
Ballard Hub Urban Village / 14th Ave NW
Beach Drive area northwest of Morgan Junction *
Belltown Urban Center Village
Bitter Lake Hub Urban Village
Capitol Hill Urban Center Village / Broadway Hill Park
Chinatown-International District Urban Center Village
Commercial Core Urban Center Village
Denny Triangle Urban Center Village
First

Fremont Residential Urban Village

Ridge Residential Urban Village

Morgan Junction Residential Urban Village
North Rainier Residential Urban Village
Puget Ridge Edible Park OPP
Ravenna Residential Urban Village *
University Urban Center Village
West Seattle Junction Residential Urban Village
Westwood-Highland Residential Urban Village
Wedgwood Neighborhood northeast of Dahl Playfield
* Parks is not currently exploring options for new parks at the Beach Drive northwest of Morgan Junction and Ravenna Residential Urban Village areas. Relatively low populations and limited acquisition opportunities make these two areas a lower priority than other areas identified in the Levy.

Green Space Acquisition

existing public ownership and preserve continuity within the City's
designated green spaces. Acquisitions will target critical properties
in the following locations and in other designated green spaces:

Duwamish Head Greenbelt
Me-Kwa-Mooks Natural Area
