Located in the heart of Ballard, we offer a wide array of aquatics programs for all ages. Our main pool is a 25 yard/6 lane size and temperature is 85 degrees
Lesson programs for a variety of ages and skill levels include tot lessons (6 months to 4 years of age), kinder lessons, youth lessons, youth competitive stroke lessons, adult and senior adult lessons, and private lessons. We offer exercise classes including aqua jogging, hyrdofit exercise, and water exercise. We also have family swim, public swim, and lap swim times.
Deep Water Swim Test
To ensure the safety of children and youth using our pools, swimmers younger than 18 years of age are required by Seattle Parks and Recreation to pass a swim test to enter the deep end. The test consists of swimming two widths of the pool. While crawl stroke is preferred, alternate methods of swimming can be acceptable if the child is swimming with the body in a prone position and is making good forward progress. For additional safety, the test may be more stringent if the pool is really crowded. Final determination is based on the judgment of the lifeguard on duty.
Alternately, the child can take the swim test using a personal flotation device (life jacket). Children who pass this modified test are allowed in the deep using a life jacket.
We have shower and restroom facilities available for Seattle Public School students and residents in need. Please see http://www.seattle.gov/homelessness for more information, times, and locations.
