Adventure Programs

Compass Course

Three separate courses from beginner to advanced create an excellent venue to practice taking bearings and other compass usage. This activity is self led, and you can check out a compass from the lodge.

Rock Climbing Classes on Schurman Rock and Glacier

Price $150 for 2 hours, 15 students
*4th – 12th Grades

The oldest artificial rock climbing structure in North America, the rock offers beginning climbers an excellent outdoor venue with easy to moderate climbs. The glacier replicates low angle slabs and crevasses and it is a unique location to teach low angle rappels and rescue practice. Groups up to 15 are led by two highly trained climbing instructors.

Basic Rock Climbing

Come to Camp Long’s Schurman Rock for an introductory rock climbing class. Participants learn safe climbing techniques, safety equipment use, and top-rope climbing. This is a great activity for team building and communication.

Glacier Program

This basic rappelling class is taught on Camp Long’s rock slabs. Participants will develop introductory technical skills of rappelling, climbing safety, safety equipment use, and knot tying.

Adventure Education Packages

Large groups can create a package with challenge, rock, and compass, to get them a complete experience at Camp Long.
