PAT MEMBERS
Ron
Angeles
Ron cares about the needs of Westwood Neighborhood residents in
his capacity as the Department of Neighborhoods Delridge Neighborhood
Service Center Coordinator. He has been a City employee for 25 years.
Ron is a member of the Delridge District Council and the Westwood Neighborhood
Council. Ron received the City of Seattle CityWorks! Community Ambassador
award in 2001. Ron grew up in southwest Seattle and remembers when the
community center didn't exist. He is a Chief Sealth High School graduate,
an assistant coach for girl's fast pitch softball, and an avid bike
rider.
Bruce
Bentley, Sr.
Bruce has worked hard for the Pro Parks Levy in his position as President
of the Parks Board. He is a neighbor of Southwest Community Center and
has followed the Sealth Denny Field Project for the past 10 years. Bruce
also serves on the West Seattle Chamber of Commerce, is president of
the SWCC Advisory Council, and a basketball coach. Bruce enjoys camping,
travel, and playing with his two grandchildren.
Jose Brown
Jose is the acting coordinator of Southwest Community Center. He loves
being outdoors, and enjoys basketball and tennis.
Dominic Buchanan
A student at Chief Sealth High School, Dominic has been working since
March 2002 as a high school intern at Southwest Community Center.
Steven Fischer
Steven is president of the Westwood Neighborhood Council, and co-chair
of the Delridge District Council. Steven worked as a junior high and
high school teacher before his current job as a city planner for the
City of Redmond. Steven brings a strong background in codes, design
and land use to the PAT. He has been a Southwest Community Center neighbor
for the past eight years.
Susan Harmon
Self-described "West Seattle Goddess," Susan has been active
in the community as a member of the Westwood Neighborhood Council, ,
the West Seattle Chamber, SWCC Advisory Council, the West Seattle Coalition,
and Powerful Partners for Powerful Youth.
Thomas
Hiatt
Tom has a background in design and construction and financing private
development. He is a member of the West Seattle Chamber of Commerce,
and the Westwood Neighborhood Council, and has been involved on a recent
Pro Parks project in Longfellow Creek. Tom is the General Manager of
the Westwood Village Shopping Mall, the nearest commercial development
to Southwest Community Center. Tom has two dogs and enjoys playing ice
hockey.
Isaiah
Johnson
Isaiah is the Assistant Principal at Denny Middle School and is involved
in the Denny Community Learning Center and Communities that Care organizations.
Isaiah is an avid basketball player and was voted Teacher of the Year
from 1996-2000 in the Kent School District. He has two young children
as works in his spare time as a youth pastor.
Naseri
Kitiona, Jr.
Junior was the teen program leader at Southwest Community Center who
is still involved with teens through the Parks Citywide Teen Program.
He is the Assistant Community Center Coordinator at Delridge Community
Center in West Seattle. Junior enjoys golf and is a Chief Sealth graduate.
Jayne
McIntyre
Jayne is a neighbor of Southwest Community Center and treasurer of the
Advisory Council. A native of Seattle, Jayne began volunteering when
she was 10 years old and hasn't stopped. She is also a member of the
Highland Park Action Committee. Jayne has worked for an architect for
the past 10 years. Jayne enjoys dressing up in costume for holidays.
Albert Smith
Albert is a graduate of Denny Middle School, currently attends Rainier
Beach High School and is involved with teen programs at the Salvation
Army and Southwest Community Center.
Parks Staff
Peggy Dunlap
Peggy is the Southwest Community Center Coordinator. She also is a member
of the Westwood Neighborhood Council, the Community Alliance for Youth
(CAY), and has been involved in other community centers during their
remodeling efforts. Peggy is a Chief Sealth graduate.
Toby Ressler
Project Manager Toby Ressler is working on four community center projects
for the Parks Department Citywide. A recent first time father, Toby
tries to find time for golf and basketball.
Katie Gray
Southwest Sector Parks Manager Katie Gray spends her leisure time with
her daughter, now in middle school, and officiating at college women's
basketball games.
