This summer Parks offers FREE exciting, fun activities in downtown
Seattle that enliven and revitalize our downtown parks. Bring the family
for events ranging from movies and music to classes and competitions,
and help celebrate our diverse downtown neighborhoods.
*In case of inclement weather, event/program will be canceled.
Center City Cinema: FREE Outdoor Movies in the Park All movies begin at sunset and will be canceled in the case of rain.

Buskers
Street performers of all kinds will display their talents on accordions,
yo-yos, flutes, toy pianos, violins, their own two feet…the list is
as varied as city life. Weekday lunchtimes and early evenings (and some
weekends) in selected parks.

"Out to Lunch" Concert
This concert series is presented by the Metropolitan Improvement District
in cooperation with the Downtown Seattle Association. Concerts start
at noon.

Seattle Presents
Seattle Presents, the free lunchtime performance series at City Hall,
will sizzle this summer with 11 outdoor performances by leading Seattle-area
performers Thursdays on the City Hall plaza. All concerts are from noon
to 1:30 p.m. In case of inclement weather, all performances (except
Toni Hill, Century Masters of Lindy Hop & Tap, and Pedrito Vargas
y su Grupo Ashé) will move inside City Hall lobby and conclude

Dancing 'Til Dusk
Each night will feature a different style of live music and dancing
on a newly expanded dance floor. Pre-dance lessons (beginner level)

2009 Wooden Boat Festival

The Wooden Boat Center's "Wooden Boat Festival" is a Seattle
maritime tradition, and this year's theme is heritage wooden boats.
It's an old-fashioned, down-home waterfront festival where everything
is fun and almost everything is free. There are fun activities for family
members of every age: enjoy toy boat building, sailing model boats on
the pond, boat rides and races, picnicking, clambering over boats big
and small, festive food and music, and general joy. Be sure to check
out the visiting vessels and watch the teams who will build a boat in

Alaska Yukon Pacific Exposition Centennial Celebration - Cancelled

ART SPARKS (Parks-Specific Art in Parks), a new and experimental
program, is bringing the creative energy of Seattle's vibrant arts community
into downtown daily life. From June through October, three center city
parks will each serve as an "art space" for a specific curator
or curatorial team. Rob D'Arc at Victor Steinbrueck Park by the Pike
Place Market, Ingrid Lahti and Carrie Boddle at Westlake Park, and Susie
Lee and Elizabeth Umbanhowar at Occidental Park in the Pioneer Square
neighborhood, will explore their artistic interests with performance,
sound, painting, words, giant puppets arts of all kinds. Catch
a glimpse, stay and watch, join in, or track all three parks to see
what happens.
