Golf Course Groundskeeper

Seattle Parks and Recreation has a great opportunity for several Golf Course Groundskeepers to join our team. A pool of successful candidates from this hiring process will be used to fill both regular, benefited positions and temporary positions for up to one year. Your work creates a high-quality experience for others

More than 200,000 rounds of golf are played annually at four golf courses, three driving ranges, and the pitch-and-putt course. Your help is needed to smoothly run the ground maintenance operations at these locations.

Some of your responsibilities: 

  • Use hand tools and small power equipment such as a gas powered weed eater, blower, or other walk behind equipment used for maintenance of greens and grounds
  • Raking leaves and setting golf course up for plan
  • Changing flag cups
  • Watering golf course manually where needed
  • Litter pick-up and changing garbage liners

  • Painting yardage markers
  • Loading and unloading supplies
  • Trimming or pruning hedges
  • Spreading bark in flower beds
  • Raking golf course bunkers
  • Digging holes

Experience not required, but six months' work in golf course grounds maintenance or general landscaping is desired. 
  • The ability to work outside 95% of the time, in all types of weather conditions
  • Required to stand, walk, or bend for extended periods
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • May need to utilize some personal protective equipment such as respirator, gloves, ear protection, boots, and hats.
  • A current, valid Driver's License
  • A current, 5 year driving abstract from the Department of Licensing  http://www.dol.wa.gov/driverslicense/requestyourrecord.html is required
