Lakewood Playground Park Play Area Renovation

Fall 2019

Seattle Parks and Recreation is renovating the play area at Lakewood Playground. Community input is essential for a successful renovation. Thank you to everyone who attended the first meeting/open house and offered input. It is so helpful to the process. Please join us at the upcoming meeting on December 10th. All are encouraged to attend. Bring the whole family! And thank you to everyone who participated in the online survey. Results are below.

Budget

The Seattle Parks District provides $320,000 in major maintenance funding for this project.  

Schedule

Planning: Winter 2019/20
Design: Winter - Spring 2020
Construction: Late Summer 2020 - Winter 2020/21

Project Description

This project will update the play area with new play equipment that meets current safety standards. The new equipment will improve access to the play area in conformance with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.

During construction the contractor will need to close the play area and possibly the playfield if required. Seattle Parks and Recreation and the contractor hired for the project will work to minimize impact to the park.
