Construction of park pathways, site furnishings, landscape boulders, lawn areas and a new sidewalk and planting strip is complete. Thanks to a great group of volunteers for two productive volunteer work parties in January 2006 to complete the landscape planting! The goat landscape management activity is part of the community match for fundraising for the park renovation. > more about using goats to clear brush! Construction of park improvements (pathway, benches, picnic table, lawn and landscape areas) occurred over the summer of 2005. Volunteers will assist in planting and ongoing vegetation management work. CONGRATULATIONS! On October 6, 2004 Safeco Foundation awarded the York Park Task Force $15,000, bringing the total funds leveraged by this Rainier Valley community group to $52,000 including money from the Miller Foundation, and the Department of Neighborhoods and King County. Great fundraising work!
