PROJECT STATUS

December 2008

Thank you Seattle this project is complete!
The project to restore the Peace Park and make a connection to the Cheshiahud Loop is complete. As construction fences came down on the afternoon of Nov 21, 2009 joggers and sight seers moved through the site. Fences to protect the newly seeded grass will remain in place until the lawn is well established.

The renovation work included ADA accessibility, safety modifications, new sidewalk and paths, new stairway, and parking for ADA, bus and maintenance use. Landscaping and planting renovation are also planned.

In conjunction with the construction of the Peace Park improvements we will also construct a segment of the Cheshiahud Loop along NE 40th Street from 7th Ave NE to the Peace Park. This segment will provide a link between the Burke Gilman Trail and the University Bridge. For more information on the Cheshiahud Loop check the link below.
