Thank you, Seattle! This Pro Parks Levy acquisition project is complete.
Seattle Parks and Recreation acquired this site in September 2001 with funding
from the Pro Parks Levy, King County Conservation Futures Tax, and the Washington
State IAC program.
The community then began planning for park and community garden improvements
to the site. In March 2004, the park was officially named Linden Orchard
Park, and a grand opening was held in June 2004. For more information, see
the webpage for the Levy's development project
at this site.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Parks acquisition of the property at the northwest corner of Linden Ave
N and N 67th St was completed on September 6, 2001.
The property appears to be a last remaining portion of an original homestead
in the Green Lake Phinney neighborhood, and its preservation was a very
high priority for the community. The property is one-third of an acre in
size.
With Pro Parks funding, and significant matching funds that were raised
by the community, the park was developed and a grand opening was held on
June 19, 2004.
In addition to funds for acquisition, the Pro Parks Levy
provided about $60,000 for park development of the site, and the community
raised funds for additional park improvements. For more information, see
Friends
of Linden Orchard.
