The existing outdoor tennis court renovation was completed in the summer of 2007. Amy Yee Tennis Center Advisory Council has raised $364,461 for the two new courts to be constructed in 2009.

In September 2005, the Seattle City Council unanimously approved projects to be funded through the second cycle of the Pro Parks Levy Opportunity Fund, including $200,000 for improvements to Amy Yee Tennis Center.

The Pro Parks Levy Opportunity Fund provides $200,000 for this park development project. Amy Yee Tennis Center Advisory Council has raised additional $364,461 for the construction of two new tennis courts.

This project renovated four existing outdoor tennis courts in 2007 and completed design for two new outdoor tennis courts to the north of the existing courts at the Amy Yee Tennis Center. After two years fund raising effort, the two new tennis courts will be constructed in 2009. Regular users of the facility include Garfield High School teams.

COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION

The Amy Yee Tennis Center Advisory Council nominated this project for the Pro Parks Levy Opportunity Fund. The Council also successfully received the Neighborhood Matching Fund and the King County Youth Sports Utility Fund. They continue to raise more fund for the new tennis courts construction.
