MAGNUSON PARK BOAT RAMP

The northern dock at the boat ramp will experience periodic closures from August 5th through August 7th.  During the closure the northern most lane will also be closed for launching and retrieving.  Please allow for more time when visiting the boat ramp during this period.  The closure will be needed to install new pilings and a floating extension to the dock.  The dock will allow more boating customers to cue up when retrieving.

About the Boat Ramp

Warren G. Magnuson Park is the home of Seattle's most popular public boat launch. The launch puts boaters and jet skiers directly into Lake Washington. For a quieter experience, boaters motor out into the expansive lake to spend the day swimming, fishing or just hanging out.

A fresh-water license is required for each person fishing;
licenses are available at sporting goods stores. See a listing of vendors in King County: http://www.wdfw.wa.gov/faq/fishfaq.htmThis link will take you off the City of Seattle Web site.

The ramp is located at the southeast end of the park. Pull your trailer to Sand Point Way N.E. and enter the park at N.E. 65th Street. Drive east as far as you can (approximately 1/2 mile). You'll see three long piers and four ramp lanes. The two south lanes are for launching and the two north lanes for retrieval. Just south of the piers and ramps are two large parking lots reserved for vehicles with trailers. Just a reminder, road access to this area is closed and locked at 11:30 p.m.

Fees - For your convenience, an electronic fee machine makes payment quick and easy by accepting coins or bills ($1 or $5), providing change, and issuing a dated ticket for display on your dashboard. A daily permit with overnight parking privileges is available, although road access to the area is closed at 10:30 p.m. during the winter and 11:30 p.m. during the summer.

Amenities - During the peak boating season, a wheelchair-accessible, portable restroom is available near the launch. For last-minute gasoline, snacks and refreshments, stores are located at Sand Point Village (Princeton Avenue N.E. and Sand Point Way N.E.) or near the N.E. 74th Street park entrance.
