East Duwamish Waterway Bridge Weekend Lane Closure

SEATTLE-The contractor working for Seattle Department of Transportation on the East Duwamish Waterway Bridge will close one westbound lane on the bridge this weekend for paving. Starting at 4 p.m., Saturday, August 1, the bridge will be restricted to one lane in each direction. The lane will be opened at approximately 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, allowing time for the concrete to set.

The sidewalk on the southern side of the bridge is closed for the duration of the project. Eastbound pedestrians and bicyclists are advised to follow the signs along SW Spokane Street as well as Klickitat Avenue SW and utilize the designated crosswalk to cross over to the north side of the bridge where they can share the sidewalk with westbound travelers.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $12 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
