Sewer Repair: First Avenue at Yesler

SEATTLE -The Seattle Public Utilities will repair a sewer main starting tonight at First Avenue and Yesler Way as part of the annual spot sewer repair program. When crews are working, northbound traffic on First Avenue will be detoured around the block, starting at South Washington Street, then Occidental Avenue South, and returning to First Avenue.

The contractor plans to work today, Wednesday, July 15 from 6 p.m. to midnight and tomorrow, Thursday, July 16 from 6 p.m. until early the next morning. On Saturday and Sunday, July 18 and 19, the crews will work from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day. Tentatively, they will return on Tuesday July 21 and Wednesday July 22 and work from 6 p.m. to midnight. The streets will remain open to traffic at all other times.

We appreciate the patience of drivers during this and other nearby critical construction work.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $12 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
