Improvements to Begin on Boylston Avenue East Street

SEATTLE-SDOT crews plan to begin installation of a curb bulb and sidewalk improvements next week on Boylston Avenue East between East Newton and East Boston streets, and at the corner of East Newton Street and Boylston Avenue East. A traffic flagger will assist drivers through the intersection.

Sidewalks will be closed on the western side of Boylston Avenue between East Boston and East Lynn streets, and also on the western side at East Howe Street. Pedestrians will cross at East Blaine Street.

Crews plan to work at this location from June 15 to June 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Sidewalks will remain closed overnight.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $12 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
