Update: Fourth Avenue Paving Project--
Nighttime Grinding Next Week

SEATTLE-Next week traffic on Fourth Avenue will be restricted during the night to one lane as SDOT's contractor grinds and removes old asphalt between Olive Way and Denny Way. The grinding is scheduled to take place Tuesday through Thursday, May 26-28. The contractor will start as early as 6 p.m. and will conclude at 6 a.m. each day.

During grinding, there will be periodic cross street and driveway interruptions. Uniformed police officers and traffic flaggers will be on site to offer assistance and keep vehicles moving. Parking will be prohibited after 3 p.m. during pavement grinding and removal.

For more project information, please see the project Website at http://www.seattle.gov/transportation/4th_pave.htm.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $12 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
