Update: Fourth Avenue Paving this Weekend

SEATTLE--SDOT’s contractor will work this weekend at the intersection of Fourth Avenue and Virginia Street, from 6 p.m. Friday, May 8 to 6 a.m. Monday, May 11. At least one lane will remain open on Fourth Avenue (one-way northbound) between Olive Way and Vine Street. Virginia Street will be closed to traffic at Fourth Avenue. Detour routes for motor vehicles and pedestrians will be posted. Access to businesses will be maintained.

SDOT is in the process of paving and making other improvements to Fourth Avenue from Denny Way to Stewart Street.

See the project Website at http://www.seattle.gov/transportation/2009_2010_pave.htm.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $12 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
