TEMPORARY, INTERMITTENT CLOSURE OF LAKE WASHINGTON BOULEVARD
Seattle Parks and Recreation to perform tree maintenance

Beginning on Monday, May 11, Seattle Parks and Recreation will perform tree maintenance along Lake Washington Boulevard, in accordance with the Lake Washington Vegetation Management Plan. Work will be performed intermittently Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. On the days when work is performed, the boulevard between the beach at Mt. Baker Park and Stan Sayers Park will be closed to through car traffic.

While crews are working, there will be one lane open for bicycles, pedestrians and emergency vehicles. Cars will not be allowed in either direction during the closure.

Work will commence along the west side of the boulevard heading south. When tree maintenance on the west side of the boulevard is complete, crews will then work on the east side of the boulevard moving north.

Seattle Parks and Recreation will work hard to complete work before SeaFair begins on June 27.

For more information, contact the Urban Forestry Division of Seattle Parks and Recreation at (206) 684-4113.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $12 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
