Plan for Increased Traffic on Sand Point Way on
Saturday, April 25

SEATTLE- Travelers in northeast Seattle will likely experience heavier than usual volumes of traffic on Saturday, April 25, near Magnuson Park on Sand Point Way NE. Between 3,000 and 5,000 participants are expected at the Magnuson Park Springfest from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to celebrate the opening of the new Mountaineers facility and new ball parks. Mayor Nickels will participate in dedication ceremonies at 11:30 a.m. and 12: 15 p.m. For more information, please see http://www.seattlechannel.org/news/detail.asp?ID=9611&Dept=14 and http://www.seattle.gov/parks/Magnuson.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $12 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
