Northbound Boylston to Re-open Tomorrow Afternoon

SEATTLE-The Washington State Department of Transportation I-5 Noise Wall project is requiring a longer than anticipated closure of northbound Boylston Avenue East between Lakeview Boulevard East and East Lynn Street. A signed detour directing traffic traveling to East Roanoke Street will remain in place until the afternoon peak hour traffic tomorrow, Wednesday, April 1.

The closure is necessary for driver safety while crews are using large bracing equipment which juts into the northbound lane. The bracing equipment is being used to stabilize the noise wall panels until the concrete wall installation is complete.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $12 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
