Update: No Detour for 14th Ave S this week

SEATTLE-SDOT's contractor reopened 14th Avenue S last week to two-way traffic due to the cold and rainy weather not being suitable for paving. When the weather improves, the street will be closed and the detour will be set up again for final paving, expected to take about one week to complete. After the road is opened to traffic in both directions there will only be periodic delays due to pavement striping and traffic signal revisions.

SDOT is restoring 14th Avenue South between S Cloverdale Street and S Director Street., and expects the project to be completed in April.

For project information, please see the project Web page at http://www.seattle.gov/transportation/14ave_south_improvements.htm

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $12 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels' goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
