Northbound Boylston to be Closed During Noise Wall Construction

SEATTLE-The Washington State Department of Transportation is building I-5 noise walls in the Eastlake neighborhood. To accommodate the work, the northbound lane of Boylston Avenue East between Lakeview Boulevard East and East Lynn Street will be closed from Monday morning, March 16 until Friday afternoon, March 27. A signed detour will be provided to get to East Roanoke Street.

The closure is necessary for driver safety because crews will be using large bracing equipment which will jut into the northbound lane. The bracing equipment will stabilize the noise wall panels while they are being installed.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $12 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels' goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
