Lane to reopen on Mercer Street

SEATTLE-A lane of Mercer Street that has been closed for construction since January 28, from Westlake Avenue North to Terry Avenue North will reopen on Thursday, February 12, in time for the morning commute.

The contractor working at this location plans to then move to Terry Street. The southbound lane of Terry, from Valley Street to Mercer Street, will be closed from February 16, starting before the morning commute, and will remain closed for a week to 10 days.

Also, the eastbound, right hand lane of Valley Street will be closed from February 19 before the morning commute, until February 28.

These closures are for a soil clean-up project by a private contractor.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $12 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
