Monday Morning Snow Response

SEATTLE-A small amount of snow, less than one inch, fell in Seattle this morning, primarily in the north end of Seattle, and at the top of hills in other areas. Seattle Department of Transportation crews were called out at 3 a.m. to patrol arterial streets, and plow and sand where needed. At 8 a.m a small contingent of trucks continued working in the north end of Seattle.

Some roadway ice is forecast for tonight and possible wet snow for tomorrow morning. Crews will watch roadway conditions through the night and prepare streets as needed for the morning commute.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $8 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
