Construction to close one block of Pike Street Saturday

SEATTLE -Saturday, February 6, the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) will close Pike Street between First and Second avenues. During the closure from 8:30 a.m., Saturday, to10 a.m. Sunday, SDOT will repair a portion of the sidewalk on the north side of Pike Street and all of the sidewalk on the south side of the street. The work will also include replacing three concrete panels in the roadway. Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the closure, however, motor vehicles and Metro Transit will be detoured north to Virginia Street, east one block to Second Avenue and then south back to Pike Street. The 26-hour closure is necessary in order for the concrete to cure.
