Weekend closure of Intersection at 14th Ave S and S Cloverdale St

SEATTLE - A contractor working for the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) plans to restore pavement in the intersection of South Cloverdale Street and 14th Avenue South this weekend, if weather permits. The intersection will be closed and a detour in place from 6 p.m. on Friday, February 6, until no later than 10 p.m. on Sunday, February 8.

During several weekends in February and March, 14th Avenue South will be closed to traffic from South Cloverdale Street to South Donovan Street, and at times the intersection with Cloverdale will also be closed, to restore concrete pavement. Signs will be posted in advance of the closures.

In addition to the weekend closures, traffic on 14th Avenue South between South Cloverdale Street and South Director Street will be restricted to one lane in each direction with some turn restrictions. There will also be restricted access to 14th Avenue South from side streets.

This work is part of SDOT’s 14th Avenue S project to improve conditions for freight, pedestrians and general purpose traffic. For more information, please see http://www.seattle.gov/transportation/14ave_south_improvements.htm

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $8 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
