Street Closed Saturday for Lunar New Year Celebration


(SEATTLE)--On Saturday, January 31, the Seattle Chinatown-International District Lunar New Year Celebration will take place at Hing Hay Park and on nearby streets. Nearly 4,500 attendees are expected for the festivities. The Seattle Department of Transportation advises motorists to expect possible traffic delays in the area.

S King Street from 6th Avenue S to Maynard Avenue S will be closed between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. S King Street will also be closed between 5th Avenue S and 6th Avenue S from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $8 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
