Update: Work Continues on Eighth and on Virginia

SEATTLE - Ness Cranes continues dismantling a large crane for work on private property. For this activity, the following street closures are required:

The following blocks are closed now and will remain closed until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21:

• Eighth Avenue from Virginia to Lenora streets, and
• Virginia (westbound) between Ninth and Eighth avenues.

The following blocks will be closed from 7 p.m. on Friday, January 16 to 2 p.m. on Saturday January 17:

• Eighth Avenue from Stewart to Lenora streets
• Virginia between Seventh and Ninth avenues.

During the closure, Police will continue to have access to the West Precinct via Ninth Avenue, Virginia Street and 8th Avenue.

To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
