Lane Striping Today on Aurora Bridge, SR 99

SEATTLE-SDOT marking crews are taking advantage of fair weather today to remark lane lines on the Aurora Bridge (white, dashed lines) that were worn away during the recent series of winter storms. The crews are starting on northbound lanes of the Aurora Bridge (as of 10:30 a.m.). Drivers will see one lane closed. This will be a very slow, “rolling closure.” Drivers are asked to please follow the signs and not drive over wet paint.

Crews plan to complete lane striping on the north and southbound lanes of Aurora Bridge today, expected to take between four and six hours. If there is time, they will then work on southbound Aurora Avenue North (SR 99), starting from the Aurora Bridge. They will be off the roadway by 3 p.m., before the afternoon peak commute period.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $8 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
