Drill Canceled - Martin Luther King, Jr. Way to remain open

(SEATTLE)--The joint safety drill on Martin Luther King, Jr. Way scheduled for today has been canceled due to emergency service needs elsewhere in Seattle. Sound Transit and emergency response agencies had planned a drill to prepare for the opening of Link light rail service. Martin Luther King, Jr. Way from S Kenyon Street to S Henderson Street will remain open to all traffic throughout the day.

For further information about the drill, please contact Bruce Gray, public information officer for Sound Transit, at 206.398.5069.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $8 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
