Reminder: SDOT to Host Construction Contractor Outreach Forum

(SEATTLE) -- The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) will host a forum for contractors to learn about upcoming construction contract opportunities:

When:
Tuesday, December 9, at 6:00 p.m.
Where:
Northwest African American Museum
2300 South Massachusetts Street, Legacy Gallery Room
Seattle, Washington

Contractors are invited to come and learn about upcoming construction contracting opportunities with SDOT. Contractors will review design plans, meet the staff who will be managing and supporting SDOT projects, and hear an update on SDOT's new Construction Management Program. In 2009, SDOT plans to award over $200 million in construction contracts.

SDOT and Seattle’s Department of Executive Administration will answer questions about the city’s bidding and award processes, contract specifications and plans, and the city’s eBid Website (www.seattle.gov/contract/pwpan.htm). This will be an occasion for prime contractors to network with subcontractors, and to solicit subcontracts with small, women and minority-owned businesses. Food and refreshments will be provided.

To attend, please R.S.V.P. to George Frost by e-mailing him via george.frost@seattle.gov

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $8 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
