Work on Elliott Avenue Traffic Signals Scheduled for Next Week

SEATTLE-SDOT’s contractor will work on the traffic signal system on Elliott Avenue West next week (October 27-31), weather permitting, following the recently completed street paving. The crews will work on one intersection at a time, at Mercer Street, Harrison Street, and Western, establishing signal detection and installing coordinated timing.

The traffic signals at each intersection will be turned off and traffic will be directed by a police officer. It may be necessary to close a curb lane in the work area. Traffic revisions may occur between 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

These signal improvements are designed to optimize traffic flow in the Elliott Avenue West corridor.

Focused enforcement of the “BAT” lane rules and signs is planned along the corridor when this work is completed.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $8 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
