Night work continues on Boren Avenue this week

SEATTLE-SDOT’s contractor plans to work on Boren Avenue between Broadway and Seneca Street each night this week from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following day. The contractor will grind off the old asphalt surface to prepare for laying new asphalt.

During the day, weather permitting, the crews will install pavement markings on Madison Street between Terry Avenue and 18th Avenue East.

Final paving of Boren, to be done at night, is planned for the second or third weekend of September.

This project is paid for with funds from Mayor Nickel’s Bridging the Gap transportation initiative, approved by Seattle voters. Other paving projects include Fifth Avenue, First Avenue South, and Elliott/15th Avenue West.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $8 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
