Update: Beacon Avenue South lanes closed in two locations this weekend, August 23 and 24

SEATTLE- SDOT crews will pave Beacon Avenue South at two locations this weekend:

• Southbound lanes between South Graham and South Myrtle streets (street will remain open for northbound traffic)

• Northbound lanes between 38th Avenue South and South Cloverdale Street (street will remain open for southbound traffic)

The lanes will be closed from Saturday at 7:30 a.m. until Sunday at 1 p.m. Local access and access for pedestrians and bicycles will be maintained. As the time for the lane closures approaches, see http://transit.metrokc.gov for reroute information.

The street must be paved because of previous work on underground utilities.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $8 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
