Fremont Bridge nighttime closures March 24-28

SEATTLE-SDOT will close the Fremont Bridge to vehicles during the nights of Monday through Thursday, March 24 to 28. The contractor now plans to leave the bridge open to pedestrians and bicycles on these nights, but this is subject to change depending on work progress. The contractor will continue installing a new center lock, the mechanism that fastens the two halves of the bridge together when they are lowered.

The Contractor will be closing the Fremont Bridge to traffic as follows;
Monday, March 24 at 9 pm to Tuesday, March 25 at 6 am.
Tuesday, March 25 at 9 pm to Wednesday, March 26 at 6 am.
Wednesday, March 26 at 9 pm to Thursday, March 27 at 6 am.
Thursday, March 27 at 9 pm to Friday, March 28 at 6 am.

In the event the contractor does need to close the bridge to pedestrians and bicycles at some point during next week’s nighttime closures, a shuttle service for pedestrians and bicyclists from 9 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. will be provided between the north and south ends of the bridge (from roughly North 34th Street and Fremont Avenue North to roughly Nickerson and Fourth Avenue North) making the loop approximately every 20 to 30 minutes. Signs will be placed noting the pick up and drop off locations.

Buses will be rerouted during these closures. As the date approaches, see Metro Online at or call Rider Information, (206) 553-3000. Marine traffic will not be impacted by the nighttime closures.
