Peace March on Saturday

SEATTLE- A "Peace March against Violence" is planned for Saturday, March 22 at 9 a.m., from Rainier Beach High School to Aki Kurose Middle School. The organizers expect 1,000 people to participate. The march will start at 53rd Avenue South and South Henderson Street, proceed west on Henderson to Rainier Avenue South, then north on Rainier to South Graham Street, and west on Graham to 39th Avenue South. Seattle Police Officers will escort the marchers.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $8 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
