Sidewalk to be repaired on South Jackson Street

SEATTLE- SDOT paving crews will repair a cracked sidewalk on South Jackson Street just east of 28th Avenue South, in front of the Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 2801 South Jackson Street. Work will start March 27 and continue until April 3. The sidewalk and the adjacent parking lane will be closed in the construction area. The crew will remove two trees because the roots are damaging the sidewalk. They will construct a new tree pit and plant a new tree. This work is funded by the Bridging the Gap transportation initiative approved by Seattle voters.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $8 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
