Eighth Avenue, Virginia to Stewart, to be closed this weekend

SEATTLE- Eighth Avenue between Virginia and Stewart streets will be closed at times this weekend for the operation of a crane within the street area. Eighth Avenue is a one-way street, for northbound traffic.

Friday, February 15: Eighth Avenue will be closed to traffic from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. to set up equipment. During the night, starting at 10 p.m., one lane will be opened to traffic.

Saturday, February 16: Eighth Avenue will be closed to traffic from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. If the job is not completed by 7 p.m., one lane will be left open for traffic during the night.

Sunday, February 17: If the project has not been completed on Saturday, Eighth Avenue will be closed at 7 a.m. and will remain closed until the project is completed.

To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
