Fremont Bridge nighttime closures Feb 19-22

SEATTLE-SDOT will close the Fremont Bridge to vehicles, pedestrians and bicyclists during the nights of Tuesday through Thursday, February 19 to 22. The contractor will perform preliminary work for installing a new center lock, the mechanism that fastens the two halves of the bridge together when they are lowered.

Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 9 p.m. to Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 6a.m.
Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 9 p.m. to Thursday, Feb. 21 at 6a.m.
Thursday, Feb. 21 at 9 p.m. to Friday, Feb. 22 at 6a.m.

On these nights, SDOT’s contractor will provide a shuttle service for pedestrians and bicyclists from 9 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. between the north and south ends of the bridge (from roughly North 34th Street and Fremont Avenue North to roughly Nickerson and Fourth Avenue North) making the loop approximately every 20 to 30 minutes. Signs will be placed noting the pick up and drop off locations. Buses will be rerouted during these closures. As the date approaches, see Metro Online at or call Rider Information, (206) 553-3000.

Marine traffic will not be impacted by the nighttime closures.
