Seattle Disaster Preparedness Classes UPDATE
This Saturday’s class cancelled – new registration phone number
SEATTLE– The Seattle Office of Emergency Management’s Disaster First Aid Class originally scheduled for Feb 9 HAS BEEN CANCELED – all other classes still scheduled as planned. (See below.)

Summary of all skills training:
- Disaster First Aid –Sat, April 12 and June 7
Register now for this one-day class offered on April 12 and June 7. Learn what to do to care for multiple injuries after a major disaster when emergency services are unavailable. Participants become certified in First Aid & CPR. The 8-hour class costs $35.00, payable by check to Medic First Aid. - Light Urban Search and Rescue– Sat, March 15 and Sat, May 3
This hands-on class covers safe and effective methods on how to rescue those who are trapped after a disaster. Safe lifting techniques, first aid triage, and utility safety and control are also emphasized. The 6-hour class costs $25.00, payable by check to Tony Bennett. Bennett is a veteran Seattle firefighter with over 20 years of field experience. - Fire Extinguisher and Utility Control– Sat, April 26
Knowing how and when to control utilities after a disaster can save a life and prevent costly damage to your home. Register for one 2-hour session, offered on April 26. Cost is $10.00, payable by check to Tony Bennett, a veteran Seattle firefighter with 20-plus years of experience.
All of the above classes are taught on Saturdays at Warren G. Magnuson Park on Sand Point Way NE. Pre-registration is required for all classes. Please call 206-233-7123.
