Crews respond to snow this morning in north Seattle

(Seattle)-Snow fell early this morning in the north end of Seattle. From 1 to 3 inches fell, mostly north of N/NE 85th Street. SDOT Street Maintenance crews called out standby crews and plowed major arterial streets, starting at 2 a.m. At 8 a.m. the major arterial streets had been plowed, although some remained icy, and crews were working on secondary arterial streets.

In other parts of Seattle, Street Maintenance crews drove major arterial streets, bridges, and elevated structures, looking for ice and applying sand and deicer as needed.

To report street condition emergencies within the Seattle city limits, the public may call 206.386.1218.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $8 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
