North Entrance to Magnuson Park Closed Temporarily

SEATTLE-The entrance to Warren G. Magnuson Park at NE 74th Street has been closed due to a sink hole. The sink hole is approximately 15 feet by 20 feet, and about 6 inches deep, and is blocking the entrance to the park at that location. The park’s operating hours and special events will not be affected by the sink hole. Visitors to the park may use the NE 65th Street entrance.

Seattle Department of Transportation employees are investigating the cause before determining the best way to repair the roadway. The entrance is likely to remain closed through next week, but a more accurate estimate will be available once the method of repair is identified.

For changes to Metro Transit’s Route 74 service terminating at Magnuson Park (after 7 p.m. weeknights and all day weekends) passengers should look for Rider Alerts posted at bus stops, see Metro Online at or call Rider Information, (206) 553-3000.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $8 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
