Heavy rainfall results in road closures

SEATTLE-City crews are working in several locations to clear rain and mud that has caused roadway closures:

- Three lanes are closed with just one lane open northbound on Westlake Ave in the 2000 block (south of Crockett St) due to a mudslide.

- Adjacent to Golden Gardens Park, Golden Gardens Drive and View Ave NW are closed at NW 85th due to a collapse in the roadway. Traffic is being diverted from 32nd Ave NW to NW 56th to Shilshole Ave NW.

-15th Ave NE at NE 133rd is closed due to water over the roadway.

- Perkins Lane is closed with mudslides; the details are not yet available.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $8 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
