SDOT crews are patrolling for snow

(Seattle)— Snow has been falling in Seattle this afternoon, with a forecast of occasional showers turning to rain later tonight. SDOT has fourteen trucks with sanders and plows patrolling Seattle’s major arterial streets. One truck is dedicated to servicing the West Seattle Bridge, and one is dedicated to the Alaskan Way Viaduct. Most roadways are wet or with slush, but there are scattered areas with some accumulated snow, mostly at higher elevations. Crews will continue working into the evening as long as conditions warrant.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $8 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
