Parking meters and pay stations free only on Thanksgiving Day

SEATTLE-The Seattle Department of Transportation reminds motorists that Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 22, is a legal parking holiday. Even though Friday, November 23rd, is a holiday for City of Seattle Offices, it is not a legal parking holiday; parking will not be free. The pay stations will be shut down on Thursday, November 22nd, and will not accept payment; however, the old parking meters cannot be shut down and will continue to accept coins.

Please note: Although parking is free Thursday, peak-hour parking restrictions will still be in effect.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $8 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
