Two anti-war youth marches on Friday

The afternoon commute could be significantly impacted

SEATTLE-On Friday, November 16, approximately 250 students will participate in the Seattle Central Community College (SCCC) March Against the War. Expected to last about 30 to 45 minutes, the march will start at 12:30 p.m. at the south plaza of SCCC at Broadway and E Pine Street and proceed west on Pine to Westlake Park at 4th Avenue and Pine.

A second protest march, Youth March for Books not Bombs, will begin at 2:15 p.m. at Westlake Park. With participants numbering from 500 to as many as 3,000, the march could stretch up to two hours in length. Starting at the Westlake Park, the march will head west on Pine Street to 2nd Avenue; south on 2nd to S Jackson Street; east on Jackson to 23rd Avenue S; south on 23rd to S Dearborn Street; and west on Dearborn into Judkins Park. Anyone traveling into or out of the downtown core area should plan on delays in their commute as the peak afternoon traffic will be impacted.
